U.S. signals sustained military presence near Strait of Hormuz as Iran tensions hinge on compliance with “REAL AGREEMENT”
Kurdish Policy Analysis Report
WASHINGTON — Donald Trump said U.S. military forces will remain deployed “in and around” Iran until a “REAL AGREEMENT” is fully implemented, warning of a significantly escalated response if compliance fails.
In a strongly worded statement posted on social media, Trump said U.S. ships, aircraft, and personnel — backed by additional ammunition and weaponry — are positioned to ensure what he described as the “destruction of an already substantially degraded enemy.”
“If for any reason it is not [complied with], which is highly unlikely, then the ‘Shootin’ Starts,’ bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before,” Trump said.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions surrounding Iran’s regional posture and the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route. Trump asserted that under the agreement, “NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS” would be permitted and the waterway would remain “OPEN & SAFE.”
While details of the “REAL AGREEMENT” referenced by Trump remain unclear, his comments suggest a conditional de-escalation tied directly to Iranian compliance. Analysts say the language signals a dual-track approach: deterrence through overwhelming force alongside conditional diplomacy.
Trump also emphasized that U.S. forces are “loading up and resting,” describing the military as prepared for potential future operations, adding that it is “looking forward… to its next conquest.”
There was no immediate response from Iranian officials.
Security experts warn that rhetoric of this scale — particularly referencing pre-positioned forces and potential large-scale escalation — could further destabilize an already volatile regional balance, especially if misinterpreted by actors on the ground.
