Iraqi National Security Advisor  Qassim al-Araaji said "Iraq does not support any polarization" and his government does not support any polarization and wants to prevent wars from spreading to the country.

On Friday, April 10, 2026, Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassim al-Araaji said in an article on the social network (X): "Iraq is not trying to polarize, but is trying to find a balance that prevents war from entering the country.

"Positive neutrality is not silence, but a tangible movement that gives Iraq an acceptable role among all parties," he said.

The Iraqi national security adviser says this balance does not mean negative neutrality, but "an active presence that gives Iraq a decent weight for everyone.

Qassem al-Araaji's comments come as Iran's war with the United States and Israel has had a major impact on Iraq and a number of armed groups that identify themselves as the Islamic Resistance have entered the war in Iran's interests.
